ENOUGH is ENOUGH Home Secretary!
Home Secretary Theresa May signals an end to British Policing as we know it. A long established crime fighting organisation dating back to 1829 gone with just one statement.
Here it is: Home Secretary’s Statement
Ask any Police Officer they will agree with you the organisation needs reform.
Let us also remind you who supported this tragic modernisation of YOUR Police Service:
1) ……………. ?
2) The Police Authorities: What is a Police Authority? Taken direct from their website:
“A police authority is an independent body made up of local people. Together with the Home Secretary and chief police officers, police authorities are responsible for the management of policing in England and Wales. Police authorities make sure that you have an efficient and effective local police force. There is a police authority for each local police force – 43 in England and Wales – plus additional police authorities for British Transport Police, Civil Nuclear Police, and a Police Committee for the Ministry of Defence police. In Northern Ireland the police authority is called the Policing Board (NIPB), but it has a similar role to police authorities in England and Wales. Police authorities make sure local people have a say in how they are policed and they hold the chief police officer to account for the services the police force deliver to local people. Police authorities also set the police force budget and decide how much money to raise towards the cost of policing through the local council tax. This is called the ‘policing precept’.”
3) The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO): Taken directly from their website,
“The Association brings together the expertise and experience of chief police officers from England, Wales and Northern Ireland, providing a professional forum to share ideas and best practice, coordinate resources and help deliver effective policing which keeps the public safe.
Statement of Purpose
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) is an independent, professionally led strategic body. In the public interest and, in equal and active partnership with Government and the Association of Police Authorities, ACPO leads and coordinates the direction and development of the police service in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In times of national need ACPO, on behalf of all chief officers, coordinates the strategic policing response.”
4) Tom Winsor: An ex rail regulator and now legal professional.
Protect Our Police Statement:
NUMBER 1 SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU!
Protect Our Police are astonished and dismayed that the Home Secretary has accepted Mr Winsors Part 2 report.
Number 1 should have been YOU the general public, our communities of which the Police should be at the heart but for some reason this entire circus of multimillion pound organisations feel they know what’s best for YOU the public without actually asking you. Little or no Public Consultation! If there was show us?
This has allowed Government to ride roughshod over Police Officers, the ones having to be at the beck and call of Government, Police Authority and ACPO targets and statistics not YOU the general Public.
Lets face facts YOU have a fear of crime because there is a rise in crime!
Government have asked an ex rail regulator, and you can make your own minds up about our rail network he left behind to pantomime over what the Home Secretary herself states in her statement “Is of serious National importance”
Well if the Police Service is “so serious” Home Secretary then surely you would give the General Public a say in what will undoubtedly affect them?
The Government and Theresa May have taken on YOUR Police Officers backing them into a corner.
Police Officers are looking beyond their personal losses of the Winsor reports. They have already told you:
1) Crime is rising
2) There was and will be civil unrest.
Were they wrong?
Please continue to listen and support YOUR Police Constables.
Over the next year Police Authorities will be replaced!
We believe ACPO will be gone!
Its Likely Theresa May will have stepped down!
Tom Winsor? Who knows
What we do know is that our communities will be left so we must join together to reject these planned changes to the Police Service!
We remind Police Officers of the need to remain calm, calculate their response and stand together as one body. Honesty and integrity will overcome privatisation greed.
We directly ask the Home Secretary to abort her planned changes to the Police Service until proper and detailed Public Consultation has taken place.
Have your say here: Public Consultation
Ends
Protect Our Police
WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW . . . .
