Peter Neyroud
Well today Peter Neyroud has released his report that was commissioned by the Home Office to look into how the leadership and training of the police could be delivered. Amongst its contents are proposals to encourage people interested in joining the Police Service to complete a qualification first. So who would look at joining the future Police Service? Students now complain and have demonstrated recently regarding increases in course fees and the loss of expenses ‘EMA’ So is the profession of policing now restricting its entrants to people who can afford to join?
The Police Service should and remain to be open to all corners of society to impress a common reflection on the communities it serves. It is imperative to retain this vital option for fear of a state run, organised and trained police service? Is this what YOU want?
